Promoting Latina leadership and empowering Latinas to think big are just two of the goals of the ELLA Leadership Institute. Founded by Dr. Angelica Perez-Litwin, the ELLA Leadership Institute accomplishes this through education, peer mentoring, and networking events, among other initiatives. Supporting Latinas is important to us at Ella Media, which is why we celebrate positive portrayals of Latinos in the media and good Hispanic marketing initiatives. Naturally we wanted to support our friends at ELLA Leadership Institute and their

Last week we had the pleasure of speaking at the Hispanic Business Conference in Orlando, part of the Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando. Yesterday as I began my morning social media routine, I began to see articles stating that Disney had unveiled their first Latina princess - Sofia. The new princess is from the upcoming Disney Junior movie and show, Sofia the First, and I was shocked that this was the first I had ever heard of her being Hispanic or Latina. The shock came from the fact that clips from the show have been on TV, previews of the show have been

Photo courtesy of Be Blogalicious/Flickr I first met the Blogalicious conference organizers during the BlogHer 2009 conference. I was excited to see a new conference in the scene that was promoting and supporting diversity in social media. The Blogalicious ladies were passionate about their mission and it showed. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the first Blogalicious Weekend in 2009 due to the job I had at that time. However, I was able to join the Blogalicious community in 2010 in

We recently chatted with the National Honey Board and Bárbara Trujillo Gómez, who have partnered to encourage consumers to lead an active and healthy life, and are spreading the message of how honey can help you in your efforts. Through this partnership, they've launched a three-month challenge with recipes, exercise ideas, and tips from Barbara on a Spanish-language site. This partnership piqued our interest because it seeks to inform Latino consumers, and the National Honey Board is working

We're so excited about an upcoming event we're hosting - mostly because we get to share a wonderful local event with Latina bloggers in the area, but also because we're fans of anything celebrating Latino culture! In just over a week, the Viva la Música festival kicks off at SeaWorld Orlando on April
